Community Guidelines

1. Welcome

Whether you are solving your first challenge or mentoring newcomers, you belong here. We expect everyone to contribute to a welcoming environment focused on learning ethical hacking and security research.

Hack n Roll is a learning environment. Practice your skills in authorized challenge environments, not against the real Platform, other users, or systems outside a challenge's intended scope.

2. Be Respectful

Treat other participants and moderators with respect. Disagreements about techniques or approaches are fine; personal attacks are not.

• No harassment, bullying, threats, or targeted abuse of any kind.
• No discrimination based on identity, background, skill level, or experience.
• No impersonation of other users, staff, or public figures.
• Assume good faith: most people here are learning, just like you.

3. Keep It Clean

Publish only content you have the right to share, and keep the community safe for everyone.

• No illegal content or encouragement of illegal activity.
• No sharing of malware, exploit kits, or tools intended to harm unauthorized targets.
• No doxxing, publishing personal information of others, or leaking private information.
• No copyright infringement or posting material you do not have the right to share.
• Do not abuse the Platform or other users' trust.

4. Sharing Your Work

Relevant self-promotion is welcome when it helps the community learn. Feel free to share cybersecurity projects, open source tools, research, articles, educational content, and personal blogs or portfolios related to security.

• Share in the appropriate category and keep posts useful to others.
• Do not spam, repeatedly promote the same link, or post unrelated advertising.
• Do not engage in unsolicited commercial solicitation or promotional posts that provide no value to the community.

5. Use the Right Place

Post in the appropriate forum category. Off-topic posts make it harder for others to find relevant discussions. If you are unsure where something belongs, ask a moderator or check existing threads for guidance.

Some categories and threads are restricted to users who have solved a linked challenge. Respect access rules. Attempting to bypass them undermines the learning experience for everyone.

6. Spoilers and Flag Sharing

Sharing flags or full solutions outside the official Solution thread ruins the experience for others who are still working on a challenge.

• Flags and full solutions may be shared only in the official Solution thread for each challenge, after you have personally solved it.
• Do not publish or disclose flags anywhere else, including GitHub, YouTube, Discord, blogs, social media, private websites, or any other platform or communication channel.
• Official Solution threads are the place for flags and full spoilers after you have solved the challenge. Educational content elsewhere is allowed if it does not reveal flags, complete solutions, or significant spoilers.

Official competitions or events may publish additional rules, including stricter requirements around spoilers, collaboration, automation, and AI usage. Follow those rules when they apply.

7. Fair Play

Keep competition fair and protect Platform integrity so everyone can learn and progress on equal footing.

• Do not create multiple accounts to gain unfair advantages.
• Do not manipulate rankings, solves, statistics, or reputation systems.
• Do not exploit Platform bugs for unfair benefits; report them instead.
• Do not use abusive automation, scraping, or requests that negatively impact the service.
• Do not attack Hack n Roll infrastructure or other users unless explicitly authorized as part of a challenge.
• Vulnerabilities in Hack n Roll itself should be reported through Responsible Disclosure, not publicly exploited or disclosed before following that process.

8. AI Tools

AI tools are welcome as a learning aid where appropriate. You remain responsible for understanding and validating your own solutions. Copying an answer you cannot explain does not help you grow.

Future competitions or challenge events may define stricter AI rules when necessary. Check the rules for that event before participating.

9. Moderators

Moderators help keep the community healthy. They may remove or move content; lock discussions; and apply warnings or restrictions when needed.

Please respect moderation decisions. If you disagree, you may appeal through official channels rather than escalating publicly.

10. Consequences

Violations of these guidelines may result in content removal, warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent account termination. Serious violations (such as harassment, flag leaking, or attacks on the Platform) may lead to immediate action.
